I love looking back at the previous years- the time seems to go by so quickly! I will post this years pictures soon!

Our First Family Picture- can you tell I had been crying alot? My eyes were swollen shut practically. I stayed in the hospital 3 nights. They never rolled Alex into my room in that little baby bed. I was told when I could and could not see my baby. It was terrible. Then I went home. Without my baby. He had been with me for 9 months and now he wasn't with me. I went to the grocery store- I wasn't pregnant- but I didn't have my baby- it was so strange. I didn't know what to do with myself. I pumped alot of milk- that was all I could do to help him.
We started making some progress, they took him off his oxygen, took his feeding tube out, we got to give him a bottle, turned off the heating lights- then he started getting jaundice so they put him under some tanning lights. We just needed to get off of IV fluids and make sure he can maintain a constant temperature and oxygen level in his blood.
All these things I took for granted when I had Makenzie. But you really can not understand what a blessing a healthy child is until you experience the other side of it. I thought everything was going to be as smooth and easy as it was with Makenzie, but it wasn't, it was very different. It was a terribly hard experience but I am so thankful to the NICU nurses and doctor for taking such good care of my baby. And although I did not appreciate the restrictions and rules and the bill that came with the NICU- I would give anything for my happy healthy little boy. I thank God for giving him to me! He is so sweet and loves to talk in baby jibber jabber and he has a little temper when he doesn't get his way. He is our big strong healthy boy and I have LOVED these past 11 months with him!

But she really is such a good girl- very smart and polite and trying to figure everything out. She loves making cards for people and she is constantly asking me how to spell things and spelling things out to me asking what that spells- she hasn't quite got the hang of spaces yet and alot of the times she tries to make up words and she doesn't understand why QTMYRFD doesn't spell anything. This morning at church she drew a picture of our family- all stick figures, I was holding Alex and she labeled each of us: DADA, MOMMY, MAKENZIE, ALEXAN(on the next line)DER :)
Alexander Ray is my precious baby boy! He is such a BOY! I am learning that boys and girls are VERY different! A few weeks ago Alex was playing in the den we were all winding down and all of a sudden he starts screaming!! He was pulling up on our iron rod magazine rack that I had blocking the TV cords because I knew he could never pull it over- well he didn't pull it over but he did fall and knock his front top tooth to where it was sticking out about 90 degrees from where it should be. There was blood everywhere and it took all I had not to freak out! We took him to the ER and Dr. Smith pulled it out so my baby will be without a tooth for about 4 years!
He is such a happy baby and I love how he crawls with his left knee and right foot sometimes. He is learning his way around the house and even went from the den with Bryan tonight through the kitchen down the hall to find us in Makenzie's room! He crawls so fast and is on the verge of taking his first step!! I am still trying to baby proof!! This is my favorite Cheese smile he does- and this is one of the last pics with two top teeth :(
Bryan and I have been married for over 5 years now! That is so crazy! I still remember the night I first met him- Thanks to Tyler Lawrence and Heather Edmondson, Nutcracker weekend and Spanos. We have been through ALOT together, good times and bad but we are stronger now and I thank God for bringing us together! We just got back from a Cruise to Alaska and it was wonderful!! Alaska is so beautiful and the weather was refreshing! It was like a week long date! We went to shows on the ship, played some blackjack, ate some incredible food, looked out on the ocean, Bryan sang kareoke to me, we went on an ocean raft and then rode a rino up to a volcano, watched whales jumping out of the ocean,
saw some massive glaciers,
explored Alaska together and in Juneau Bryan bought me a new diamond for my wedding ring! It is so beautiful! I told him that wasn't necessary- but he insisted- my sweet husband- I love him alot!
