Psychology

When I met Bryan he was a vocal performance major at HSU- I actually noticed him because of his voice and it is still one of my favorite things about him! It was Nutcracker weekend 2003 and Heather, Tyler and I went to eat a Spanos before going to the show and on the weekends the waiters sang songs in between waiting tables and I heard him sing some Frank Sinatra and we got married 6 months later! We realized that a singing career would be hard to come by so Bryan decided to go work for my dad at Frontier Motors- at one point he went to Fire Academy but then had to have another ankle surgery so it was back to selling cars- the money is good but the hours are terrible and when Bryan doesn't get home until 7 or 8 we then have a family dinner and spend some time together it gets late fast- for the longest time Makenzie's bedtime was 10 or 11pm- that is not good. He is never home on Saturdays plus is it hard to budget around a commission income. So starting in May Bryan is going back to HSU to get a degree and masters in PSYCHOLOGY!! We have been to plenty of counselors/therapists during our marriage and have worked through many issues- our marriage is certainly not perfect but we have learned a lot about ourselves and each other and Bryan is hoping to be able to share our experience, strength and hope with other couples and families. Marriage can be extremely hard at times and after almost 6 years Bryan and I are in a really good place but it takes effort. And since most of us put on a happy face even when things are bad it is really important to have someone that you can talk to honestly and you know that they will not judge you or gossip about you and that can help you work through things. satan is destroying marriages and families all around us-he is a fierce lion. he has attacked our marriage many times and we are so grateful that we had help and were able to work through it and the pain made us stronger. I am a big believer in counseling and especially in a world where we are told that we have to be perfect and so we eat or drink or use drugs or go shopping or whatever it is we do to feel better instead of dealing with the actual issue- it is just so important to have someone to talk to. Bryan is looking forward to helping people and we are excited that our experiences and struggles maybe can be used to help someone else. We feel like God is leading us in this new direction and we are looking forward to what the future will bring. Please pray for us as we begin this new chapter in our lives.

Update

Since I am apparently a terrible blogger- let me just give yall an update on the Wilson Family

In November: after Alex turned one- he started walking a few days after his Birthday! He wanted to chase some balloons from his party so he started taking steps after them- I will try to upload the video soon! I got to participate in my first Christmas Carousel- it was a lot of work- but so much fun!!!
Breakfast with Santa

3 Amigas at Gala (my camera wouldn't focus!)

We went to Houston for Thanksgiving and my Cousin's Wedding- Makenzie was a beautiful Flower Girl and Alex did very well his first time flying

Then the snow began...

In December: we celebrated Christmas (many times) and enjoyed more snow!

The highlight of January was that we got to have a Limo take us to Mr Gattis and then to see Nate the Great at the Paramount- we invited our friends the Glass' to come with us- Tracy had to work but the kids had a really good time! Makenzie and Morgan are Best Friends!!

February brought more snow! It snowed on Bryan's birthday, my mom's birthday and I got a few flakes on March 1st for my birthday- this weather is CrAzY!!

Which brings us to March:
I turned 27 years old- that has always been my favorite number- I can not believe that I am 27! The years are just flying by! I wish I could slow down time but I can't- what I can do is cherish every moment- try to enjoy each second with my kids and Bryan and friends and family because we are not promised tomorrow. I am so very blessed and I thank God every day for the things that He has given me.
